I've been active on other blogs that I maintain, and so have been neglectful of this one :-(
However, all that has changed today with a few new items. I have added two new articles onto my Leadership page. One by Anthony Robinson, is a review of 5 recent books on the theme of Christian discipleship. Anthony is a wonderful source of ideas for bringing new life to mainstream protestant denominations. Highly recommended. Check out www.columbialeadershipnetwork.org. The other is a review of The Starfish and the Spider, a book that describes the pluses of decentralized, highly resilient organizations. Helpful.
I also recommend God Is Not Great - book review from the Christian Century's September 18, 2007 issue. A helpful discussion of a very popular attack on all things religious.
My colleague, Bruce Sanguin, www.brucesanguin.com, has a great new book out, Darwin, Divinity, and the Dance of the Cosmos. He was interviewed October 2, 2007 on the CBC program, Tapestry. Click here to download an MP3 file of the 25 minute interview, or go to CBC Past Podcasts and scroll down to "Tapestry" and click on the link to locate the interview with Bruce.
And while I'm on the subject of wonderful, amazing colleagues (and this is NOT the complete list), check out Anna Christie's great blog on leadership and her book, Evoking Change. There are lots of great resources that describe the type of churches we all want to be part of, (search amazon.com for books on healthy congregations or discipleship, for example), but Anna helpfully describes the attributes / qualities / behaviours / habits / attitudes of being a leader in a change process.
